Mission Statement
The George Gramby Day Observance Committee is dedicated to continuing the vision of the late George Gramby by heightening the community’s awareness of the disease of addiction through prevention, education and the celebration of recovery.
2012 Event Appeal
The George Gramby Day Committee is appealing to you for help with continuing a 19 year tradition of holding the George Gramby community event. This gathering is designed to bring people together for fun and fellowship while making resources available to them that will improve the quality of life within the community with an emphasis on helping those seeking “liberation” from the disease of addiction. In the past, representatives from substance abuse facilities have been accessible and information available on HIV (AIDS), STDs, homelessness and mental health as it pertains to substance abusers and their families. Some of the day’s activities have included kid’s Olympic races, a writing and poster contest, entertainment, annual soft ball and basketball games, children’s rides and of course, plenty of food and fun. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, July 14th at Abbett Avenue Playground in Morristown, NJ. As this will be the 20th year celebration, we feel challenged to make this the biggest, most informative event ever!
Because we have lost funding over the years from previous sponsors due to budget reductions, we are hoping you will assist in sponsoring the event. We are asking that you contribute at least $25.00. If you are able to contribute more, we have a number of levels of sponsorship that you can choose from. All you need to do is select a level of participation that best fits your budget. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and your donation will be tax deductible.
In addition to offering the youth of the community a memorable day of summer fun, your donation will be contributing to the possibility of people (a) being "rescued" from the disease of addiction and returning to a drug-free life; (b) being deterred from their first encounter with drugs/alcohol or (c) finding the resources needed to stay clean. Take this opportunity to touch another life by giving!
Feel free to contact us at (973) 538-1229, ext. 32 as we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We thank you in advance for your willingness to support the efforts of The George Gramby Day Observance Committee.
Sincerely,
THE GEORGE GRAMBY DAY OBSERVANCE COMMITTEE
